The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, on Friday, donated N25 million to traders affected by fire incident at popular Bode market in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of the state.

He made this announcement during a sympathy visit to the market, and commiserated with victims who suffered losses in the incident.

Alli was received by traders at the market led by the Babaloja, Salau Oloya, and the Iyaloja, Sikira Alaja, respectively.

While commiserating with the victims, APC governorship candidate assured them that the party would always identify with the pains and aspirations of the people, especially during periods of hardship and distress.

The governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement in the state, Bimbo Adekanmbi, had earlier donated N2.5 million intervention fund to the affected shop owners.

Alli, currently representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly under APC, said, “Leadership must go beyond rhetoric and political campaigns. People-oriented governance requires prompt response, empathy and tangible support for citizens in moments of crisis. The donation of N25 million to the affected traders is to show our commitment to the people’s welfare.

“APC remains committed to restoring hope to the people of Oyo through responsible leadership, responsive governance and strategic interventions aimed at improving livelihoods.”
