Anambra State is set to host a national cultural and economic exhibition tagged “I Ga Eso Welu”, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, and other prominent Nigerians expected to attend.
The event, scheduled to commence in September in Nnewi, is aimed at promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, indigenous industries, arts, crafts and local entrepreneurship as tools for national development and economic growth.
The initiator of the project and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Liven Capital Investment Limited, Chief King Ifeanyichukwu Oruruo, said the initiative will provide a platform for Nigerians to showcase their talents, innovations and locally made products across diverse sectors.
Speaking in Awka, Oruruo explained that the event would feature exhibitions in trade and commerce, manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, entertainment, sports, talent development and job creation, with participation open to Nigerians regardless of age, ethnicity, religion or gender.
He stressed that Nigeria possesses abundant human and natural resources capable of driving sustainable economic growth if properly harnessed and promoted.
According to him, the programme is designed to support local craftsmen, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and creative talents while encouraging greater patronage of made-in-Nigeria products.
Oruruo disclosed that after its maiden edition in Nnewi, the initiative would be extended to other states across the federation.
Responding to speculation that the event is intended to promote President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, Oruruo dismissed the claims, insisting that “I Ga Eso Welu” is a non-partisan initiative focused solely on showcasing Nigeria’s cultural heritage, economic potential and indigenous innovation.
He described the project as a nationwide platform aimed at discovering and empowering talents, stimulating local industries and positioning Nigeria’s cultural and creative sectors as major contributors to national economic development.
