Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has declared that the people of the state are ready to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, attributing the state’s infrastructural and economic progress to the Federal Government’s ongoing economic reforms.

Governor Uzodimma made the declaration at the Government House, Owerri, during the closing ceremony of the Presidential Media Tour of Projects in Imo State, organised under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the media tour provided Nigerians with an opportunity to assess government performance through completed and ongoing projects rather than political rhetoric.

According to the governor, the removal of fuel subsidy and other economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration have significantly increased federal allocations to states, enabling Imo State to execute critical infrastructure projects in roads, healthcare, education, electricity and other sectors.

Uzodimma disclosed that the state’s monthly allocation from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) rose substantially after the reforms, while its internally generated revenue increased from less than ₦400 million to nearly ₦6 billion monthly.

He further revealed that Imo’s debt profile had reduced from about ₦287 billion to below ₦90 billion, attributing the achievement to prudent financial management.

The governor also highlighted improvements in road infrastructure, noting that travel time across the state has reduced considerably, while investments in the power sector have enabled the state to generate, transmit and distribute electricity within parts of Owerri.

Describing Imo as “ready for business,” Uzodimma said the administration’s development strides demonstrate the positive impact of the Federal Government’s economic policies.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, commended the Imo State Government for supporting the nationwide Presidential Media Tour, which he said enabled journalists to independently verify projects executed under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dare noted that the media team inspected projects across key sectors, including transportation, healthcare, education, energy, aviation, digital technology and urban renewal, describing the Imo Digital City as one of the standout projects.

He added that the performance of the Federal Government, in collaboration with APC-controlled states, is translating national reforms into visible development and improved public infrastructure across the country.
