Stakeholders and political leaders from Imo East Senatorial District, popularly known as Owerri Zone, have endorsed former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, as their preferred candidate for the 2027 Senate election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The endorsement was announced in a statement issued by Hon. Ezenta Chibuike Ejimkonye, who said the decision followed consultations among stakeholders based on Prince Madumere’s leadership experience, political capacity and record in public service.
The leaders described Madumere as an experienced administrator, technocrat and advocate of human capital development, expressing confidence in his ability to provide effective representation and attract meaningful development to the district.
They pledged to mobilise support for his candidacy ahead of the 2027 general elections and called on party members, traditional leaders, women, youths and other stakeholders to unite behind the PDP candidate.
The stakeholders also commended Madumere’s commitment to youth empowerment, infrastructure development and inclusive governance, expressing optimism that he would deliver quality representation if elected.
Responding to the endorsement, Prince Madumere thanked the stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to provide accessible, transparent and people-centred leadership.
He assured the people of Owerri Zone that, if elected, he would pursue an open-door policy anchored on inclusiveness, accountability and responsive representation, while working to address the needs and aspirations of the district.
