A man identified as Adeyinka Taiwo, younger brother of Segun Taiwo, has raised an alarm over alleged repeated harassment and threats to his life by individuals he claimed were acting on the instructions of High Chief Aderemi Odukoya.
Taiwo, in a public statement obtained by MUK TV, said he and members of his family had been living in fear following several visits by suspected thugs allegedly working for Odukoya, who he claimed had been demanding information about the whereabouts of his brother, Segun Taiwo.
According to him, the repeated visits to his family residence in Ibadan were connected to allegations surrounding a reported sex scandal involving his brother and one Osideko Kayode.
“My name is Adeyinka Taiwo, and I am the younger brother of Segun Taiwo,” he said.
“I am crying out to the good people of Nigeria to express my fears regarding the safety and wellbeing of my family due to repeated threats by thugs from Chief Odukoya.”
Taiwo alleged that the individuals repeatedly questioned him about his brother’s location and pressured him to provide information about where Segun could be found.
“On several occasions, these hoodlums have come to my family house demanding information about the whereabouts of my brother, Segun Taiwo who is currently on the run,” he stated.
He said he informed them that he had no knowledge of his brother’s whereabouts and had not been in contact with him.
“I informed them repeatedly that I do not know my brother’s current whereabouts and have not been in contact with him,” Taiwo added.
He further claimed that during their visits, the individuals told him they were searching for his brother over allegations involving a sex scandal between Segun Taiwo and Osideko Kayode.
“Many of their visits to our family house at Ibadan, I was informed that they were actively searching for my brother because of many allegations involving a sex scandal between my brother, Segun Taiwo, and one Osideko Kayode,” he said.
Taiwo maintained that his family was unaware of the alleged misconduct involving his brother and expressed concern that he could become a target because of his relationship with him.
“My family and I never knew about my brother’s involvement in such immoral activity,” he stated.
“Their repeated visits, demands for information, and conduct have caused me significant fear and concern for my personal safety.”
He said he was worried the situation could escalate, adding that he had no role in his brother’s disappearance.
“I, nor any member of my family do not have any information regarding the current whereabouts of my brother. I have not assisted him in hiding, nor have I received any recent communication from him that would enable me to disclose his location,” he said.
Taiwo disclosed that his brother had previously been arrested and later granted bail but had not been seen or heard from since then.
“I only know that my brother was arrested previously and was granted bail. Ever since, we have neither seen, nor heard from him,” he added.
He appealed to Nigerians and relevant authorities to intervene, urging Chief Odukoya and those allegedly acting on his behalf to stop what he described as intimidation and harassment.
“As a result of the continued pressure and threats I have received from these visits, my family and I now live in fear for our lives and safety,” Taiwo said.
“I am making this public appeal to alert the good people of Nigeria to come to our aid so that Chief Odukoya and his thugs will desist from further intimidation and harassment.”
The allegations contained in Taiwo’s statement have not been independently verified, and there was no response from High Chief Aderemi Odukoya at the time of filing this report.
