The member representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha, has continued to strengthen her legislative profile through the sponsorship of bills and motions aimed at improving healthcare, education, infrastructure and governance.
As the first woman to represent the Okigwe Zone in the House of Representatives, Onuoha has sponsored and co-sponsored several bills, with some already passed by the National Assembly.
Among the notable legislations is the Federal Medical Centre, Okigwe (Establishment) Bill, which seeks to improve access to specialist healthcare services in Imo State. Other bills introduced by the legislator include amendments to the Civil Aviation Act, Federal Inland Revenue Service Act, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Federal Road Safety Commission Act, Federal Character Commission Act, as well as the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Act, all intended to improve institutional effectiveness and public service delivery.
In addition to legislative proposals, Onuoha has sponsored motions calling for the rehabilitation of federal roads in Okigwe North and neighbouring communities, expansion of healthcare facilities, improved education infrastructure, enhanced aviation safety, stronger security measures and accelerated economic development through increased federal presence in her constituency.
Her legislative interventions across the 9th and 10th National Assemblies have largely focused on healthcare delivery, education and human capital development, infrastructure, agricultural development, disability rights, social inclusion and institutional reforms.
