President Bola Tinubu is engaging in closed-door discussions with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former state governor Peter Odili, and other key stakeholders at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
Commencing on Monday evening, this meeting follows weeks of tension between Fubara and his predecessor, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
While the specific agenda remains undisclosed, it likely relates to the recent political turmoil.
Notably, on December 11, 27 out of 32 State House of Assembly members, known as loyalists to Wike, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)to the All Progressives Congress (APC), possibly linking to the ongoing discussions.
