Patrick Vieira has officially been appointed as the new head coach of the Senegal national team, with an agreement now confirmed between the former France international and the Senegalese Football Federation.

Vieira brings extensive experience from his coaching spells in European football, having previously managed clubs including New York City FC, OGC Nice, Crystal Palace and Strasbourg.

His appointment signals a new direction for Senegal, with Vieira now tasked with building on the team’s recent achievements while preparing the squad for upcoming international challenges.

The 50-year-old will now begin work with the national team as Senegal look to establish a new era under his leadership.
