Beninese music legend Angélique Kidjo has become the first African musician and Black African artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Kidjo unveiled her star on August 18, 2026, receiving the 2,854th star in the Recording category on Hollywood Boulevard.
The five-time Grammy winner was honoured for a career spanning more than four decades, blending West African sounds with jazz, funk, soul and other global influences.
