After his recent defeat in a boxing match against Nigerian street-pop singer, Portable, Nollywood actor Charles Okocha has raised concerns about the fight’s fairness, calling for a rematch due to alleged irregularities.
Okocha expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome, highlighting the referee’s decision and the opponent’s actions.
He criticized Portable for reportedly removing his gloves during the third round, a move that should have resulted in disqualification as per boxing rules.
“How can you give up in the 3rd round when we have 4 rounds? How do you take off your gloves in the third round, leading to total disqualification when the fight hasn’t ended?”
Asserting that the match was rigged and criticizing the referee for alleged incompetence regarding boxing regulations, Okocha emphasized his determination for a rematch, indicating that the fight was not conducted fairly.
“Y’all know this was rigged, with an incompetent referee who knows nothing about boxing rules. Nevertheless, we move on. Rematch coming soon.”
