Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to the former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, alongside Dare Aragbaye, the Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, have tendered their resignations.
In separate letters addressed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government on Wednesday, both aides attributed their resignations to the unfortunate passing of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON.
Olatunde, in his resignation letter titled ‘Resignation Letter,’ emphatically stated, “My decision to resign from office is hinged on the unfortunate and untimely death of our leader, principal, and father figure, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON.”
Expressing deep reverence for Akeredolu’s leadership qualities, Olatunde noted how the governor’s commitment to the state inspired him to contribute his efforts towards the state’s advancement.
In a similar vein, Aragbaye conveyed in his letter, “My decision to resign is based on the unfortunate death of my principal a fearless and honest leader, Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredulu, SAN, CON, whom I am loyal to even in death.”
Acknowledging the opportunity to serve in Akeredolu’s administration as a member of the State Executive Council, Aragbaye expressed gratitude.
Akeredolu passed away on Wednesday in Germany at the age of 67.
Meanwhile, Lucky Aiyedatiwa was inaugurated as the substantive governor of the state, with the swearing-in ceremony held at the Government House, Alagbaka, Akure.
