The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has described the massive turnout at the Delta South All Progressives Congress (APC) Mega Stakeholders’ Meeting as a clear demonstration of the party’s growing unity and grassroots strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ogorugba spoke with journalists shortly after the meeting, held on Thursday at the Brownhill Coliseum in Warri, where APC leaders, elders, stakeholders and party faithful from across the eight local government areas of Delta South gathered for dialogue and strategic planning.
He said the impressive turnout reflected the commitment of party members to work together for the success of the APC, noting that renewed unity and a common sense of purpose would strengthen the party’s structures and grassroots mobilisation across the senatorial district.
According to him, the meeting was one of the most significant gatherings of APC stakeholders in Delta South in recent times and provided an important platform for leaders and members to close ranks and prepare effectively for the 2027 elections.
Ogorugba said the party must sustain the momentum generated by the meeting by taking its message and programmes to the grassroots.
He said: “What we have witnessed today is a clear demonstration of the strength, unity and commitment of the APC in Delta South.
“The massive turnout is an indication that our leaders, elders, stakeholders and party faithful are determined to work together towards the success of the party in 2027.
“We must sustain this unity and ensure that our differences do not become obstacles to our collective progress. The APC is a party with a clear direction, and it is our responsibility as leaders and members to take that message to the grassroots and mobilise our people effectively.”
The Isoko North council chairman also called on APC members to intensify mobilisation in their respective local government areas, wards and polling units, saying the people needed to understand the programmes and policies of the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
He maintained that continuity of the two administrations remained in the best interest of the people, urging party members to work collectively towards delivering the President, Governor and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
“With unity, discipline and effective grassroots mobilisation, victory is achievable,” Ogorugba said.
He further urged APC members across the eight local government areas of Delta South to remain committed to the party and put its collective interest above individual differences.
The meeting, anchored by the Delta South Senatorial District Chairman of the APC, Emman Amgbaduba, was attended by the Delta State APC Chairman, Solomon Arenyeka; Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor; and other party leaders, stakeholders and faithful from across the district.
The stakeholders used the gathering to deliberate on strengthening party structures, deepening grassroots mobilisation and promoting greater unity as the APC prepares for the 2027 general elections.
