In the latest 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR), the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) proudly secures the coveted position as the foremost agricultural institution in Africa, marking its place at 7th globally.

This year’s 2024 WUR utilized an enhanced 3.0 methodology, meticulously assessing 2,671 entries from 1,906 universities spanning 108 countries and regions.

The comprehensive methodology meticulously calibrated 18 performance indicators, evaluating institutions across five pivotal areas: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook.

This rigorous ranking process analyzed over 134 million citations from 16.5 million research publications, coupled with survey responses from 68,402 scholars globally, amassing a wealth of 411,789 data points from 2,673 participating institutions.

Professor Babatunde Kehinde, the Vice-Chancellor, extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire University community, emphasizing the need for fortified collaboration to achieve even greater milestones.

Previously securing the 2nd position in Nigeria in the 2023 Sub-Saharan Africa University rankings, FUNAAB’s recognition as the best public university in Nigeria stands as a testament to its consistent excellence.

The 2024 league table by Times Higher Education Rankings marks a significant insight into the global higher education landscape, reinforcing the credibility of these rankings, respected by students, educators, governments, and industry experts worldwide.
