Fuad Kayode-Laguda has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidacy for the forthcoming Surulere 1 Constituency House of Representatives by-election.
The emergence of Kayode-Laguda, endorsed as the APC flagbearer, took place during a rigorous primary election held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, conducted on Saturday, showcasing his selection as the party’s contender for the impending electoral contest.
Scheduled for February 3, 2024, the by-election is to fill the vacancy left by former House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Gbajabiamila, who previously represented the Surulere 1 Constituency, transitioned to the role of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, necessitating the need for this electoral process.
