Saudi Arabia’s air defence systems have intercepted three ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Houthi movement over the Kingdom’s Eastern Region, according to a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition.
The spokesman said the missiles were intercepted before they could reach their intended targets. However, he did not provide further details about the exact locations of the interceptions or whether the incident caused any damage or casualties.
The interception highlights continuing security concerns in the region, where missile and drone attacks have remained a major threat amid tensions involving the Houthis and neighbouring countries.
Saudi authorities have yet to release additional information about the incident or identify the missiles’ intended targets.
