Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, in a shocking political twist, has announced his defection from opposition leader Atiku Abubakar’s camp to pledge his allegiance to President Bola Tinubu.
Unapologetic about his shift in loyalty, Bwala revealed his commitment to working for Tinubu during a visit to the State House in Abuja.
Bwala clarified that his recent expressions of support for the president’s decisions transcend political affiliations, stating that it is not bound by party lines.
He stated, “I am committing to play my part to support your administration’, and I have no apologies to anybody.”
Once a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bwala defected to the PDP, becoming a vocal critic of Tinubu and the ruling party.
However, his recent turnaround signals a dramatic shift in his political stance.
Asked about returning to the APC, Bwala imsisted, “APC is a party. President Bola Tinubu is my motivation, if supporting him will take me to APC, so be it.”
Commending President Tinubu for decisive actions taken since assuming office, Bwala highlighted decisions such as the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, and the cost-cutting measures in governance.
He applauded the president’s commitment to addressing policy issues and reducing the bloated government structure.
Bwala’s surprising move has set the political sphere abuzz, leaving observers intrigued about the potential implications and alliances shaping up ahead of the next political cycle.
