The Anambra State Urban Water Assets Holding Corporation (ASUWAHC) has commenced the distribution of water bills to consumers across Awka Zone as part of efforts to improve revenue collection and strengthen the sustainability of public water services.

The exercise, which began on October 31, 2026, is being conducted under the directives of the Corporation’s Officer-in-Charge, Mrs Emmanuella Okafor, and coordinated by the Principal Technical Officer (Water), Mr Achike Chukwuemeka Felix.

According to the corporation, the initiative is designed to improve revenue mobilisation, encourage compliance with water tariffs and ensure that consumers meet their payment obligations for services provided.

During the exercise, Felix is engaging consumers directly, distributing bills, informing them of outstanding charges and encouraging prompt payment.

ASUWAHC explained that revenue generated from water consumption is essential for funding its operations, maintaining existing facilities, repairing faulty infrastructure and sustaining the production and distribution of potable water.

The corporation therefore urged residents and other consumers across Awka Zone to cooperate with its officials, collect their bills and make payments through approved channels.

It stressed that regular revenue collection is necessary for the effective management of public water infrastructure and the delivery of reliable services.

ASUWAHC added that the exercise forms part of its broader strategy to improve commercial operations, promote financial accountability and establish a sustainable framework for water service delivery across Anambra State.

The corporation reaffirmed its commitment to improving the efficiency and reliability of public water services in the state.
