Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, voiced his trust in goalkeeper Francis Uzoho if Stanley Nwabali fails to recover in time for the quarter-final clash against Angola, as revealed in a press conference.
Nwabali, who will undergo a fitness test on Thursday, is uncertain for the upcoming game.
Peseiro mentioned, “Today we will make the final decision. He will do one last test to see if he is really fit, but if he cannot play, Francis [Uzoho] will play. And I trust him.”
Despite Nwabali’s remarkable performance, having conceded only once in four AFCON appearances, Peseiro assured his confidence in Uzoho’s goalkeeping abilities.
The decision will be made based on Nwabali’s fitness evaluation.
The anticipation over Nwabali’s readiness to face Angola adds suspense to the quarter-final tie scheduled at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
