Mrs. Oluchi Oparah, the National Treasurer of the Labour Party (LP), has alleged that the party’s National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, is engaged in anti-party activities and has formed a covert alliance with Governor Obaseki’s PDP in Edo State.
Oparah voiced her accusation during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme, following her demand for Abure to account for over ₦3.5 billion in party funds.
She also claimed that Abure obstructed her from carrying out her constitutionally assigned duty of managing the party’s finances.
Refuting allegations of being sponsored by external forces, Oparah insisted on her stance, stating, “They are masters at disseminating wrong information.”
She underscored the need for a thorough investigation into the matter and challenged Abure to deny any involvement in talks with the Edo State government.
In her words, “Now, they are always quick to accuse someone of being sponsored, especially from the opposition party. I want to State it clearly here that if there’s anybody that has any alliance with the opposition, it’s the National Chairman of the Labour Party. Let him come out and say he hasn’t been in talks with the government of Edo State.”
