According to a document obtained by Channels, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission is presently thinking about moving some of its divisions to Lagos.

The decision was made to improve service delivery, lower operating costs, and fully utilize its assets in Lagos, according to the memo dated February 14, 2024.

We are investigating the possibility of moving some units to Lagos in order to better serve our goals of fostering industry growth, managing office space in Abuja, and enhancing organizational efficiency.

“The need to improve our service delivery, lower operating costs, and fully utilize our Lagos assets is what motivates this initiative.

As a result, we are asking each department to name and supply a list of units that are capable of functioning autonomously with little oversight.

“Submissions on the aforementioned are anticipated by business close on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the latest.

“This is submitted for your further necessary action, please.”

The memo was signed by Dr Kelechi Onyekachi Ofoegbu on behalf of the Commission.

The development comes on the heels of the recent relocation of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) headquarters to Lagos.
