Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to endure the current hardship gripping the nation, emphasizing that the tough decisions made by the president are crucial steps towards a brighter future.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Tinubu expressed empathy for the burdens borne by Nigerians due to delayed reforms, stating, “There is no joy in seeing the people of this nation shoulder burdens that should have been shed years ago.”
He continued, “I wish today’s difficulties did not exist. But we must endure if we are to reach the good side of our future.”
Vanguard recalls that in a Similar vein, comedian Seyi Law echoed the sentiment of optimism, affirming his continued support for President Bola Tinubu even in the face of present challenges.
He likened Nigeria’s current economic struggles to the biblical wilderness journey of the Israelites, preferring to journey towards a promising future than remain in the shackles of stagnation.
While acknowledging the prevailing hardships, Seyi Law lamented the lack of effective communication from government agencies about their agendas, efforts, and actions.
The recent removal of petrol subsidy announced by President Tinubu during his inauguration, coupled with the unification of all segments of the forex exchange market by the Central Bank of Nigeria, has exacerbated the economic strain on Nigerians.
These policies, though deemed necessary for transparency and investor confidence, have led to increased pressure on the local currency and rising prices of essential goods.
Despite the government’s announcement of palliatives to cushion the effects of these policies, many Nigerians continue to grapple with the adverse impact, as the cost of living escalates and access to funds remains restricted.
