Following her husband’s recent appointment as the managing director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, is calling for patience from Nigerians amidst the nation’s economic challenges.

Speaking at an event in Lagos, Mrs. Tinubu-Ojo stressed the need for hope and endurance, reassuring citizens that brighter days are ahead despite the current economic downturn.

Her plea echoes similar sentiments expressed by her younger brother, Seyi Tinubu, urging Nigerians to weather the storm and support their father, President Tinubu.

“My message to all Nigerians is to please exercise a little more patience. Everything will be alright; it’s just a matter of time.

“We need to keep our hope alive. There is an economic downturn all over the world, and not in Nigeria alone. But we pray Allah will see us through,” Peoples Gazette quoted Mrs Tinubu-Ojo to have said.

However, Mrs Tinubu-Ojo’s appeal comes amid nationwide protests over soaring food prices, with demonstrators across various states expressing frustration and discontent.

These protests highlight the harsh reality faced by Nigerians, as staple food prices have nearly doubled in the past nine months, fueled by inflation exacerbated by recent government policies.

President Tinubu’s decision to remove petrol subsidies and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s currency floating policy have contributed to the economic strain, resulting in skyrocketing petrol prices and a weakened national currency.
