Afrobeat sensation, Bella Shmurda, has revealed his tumultuous journey to stardom, disclosing shocking details of his past struggles in a revealing documentary titled ‘Bella Shmurda: Tension in Ibadan 2024.’

The Dagbana crooner bared his soul, recounting desperate measures he took in pursuit of his musical dreams, including hijacking a tricycle, popularly known as Keke, to finance his aspirations.

Opening up about his early missteps, Shmurda admitted, “I shouldn’t have rushed. We will never get to see the future. So everybody is rushing. I went into some things that didn’t later pay off. I went to sign a deal with rush which later was funny.

“I stole keke (tricycle) because of money but Alhamdulilah, I’m here today.”

Amidst the highs and lows of his tumultuous career, the singer reflects on the profound impact of fatherhood, revealing how his son serves as a source of inspiration, influencing his artistic direction and vision for the future.

“Seeing my son, inspires me. What’s on my head is, ‘Wetin this boy go see in the next 10 years?’ I don’t want him to see my old videos. I want him to see a new Bella,” Shmurda passionately declared.
