A 400 level student at FUTO was fatally stabbed by a motorcycle rider during a dispute. The student, a Man O’ War member, succumbed to injuries despite medical efforts. Tensions rose as law enforcement intervened.
A heart-wrenching incident unfolded at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (#FUTO), as a final year student lost his life in a stabbing incident involving a motorcycle rider.
According to reports, the victim, whose identity is yet to be officially confirmed, was a member of the Man O’ War organization and was providing directions to the motorcycle rider within the school premises. An altercation ensued, leading to a tragic turn of events as the rider brandished a knife and stabbed the student.
Despite efforts to save him, the student was initially left unattended at the FUTO medical center before being transferred to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, where he was pronounced dead.
Amidst escalating tensions, the police personnel reportedly resorted to firing shots to disperse FUTO students attempting to intervene in the situation and apprehend the motorcycle rider.
