A family of six in Oyo State faces devastation after allegedly consuming poisoned Amala, resulting in one fatality and others fighting for survival.

In the Temidire Atoyebi area along Ajaawa in Ogbomosho, tragedy unfolded as the grandmother, Victoria Adewole, her four children, and a granddaughter fell victim to the poisoned cassava flour used in preparing their meal.

Distress gripped the family shortly after consuming the food, prompting neighbors to rush them to a private hospital, where tragically, the granddaughter succumbed to the ordeal.

Medical professionals at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital are battling to save the remaining family members.

While four members show signs of recovery, one remains in critical condition, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
