Yet-to-be-identified hoodlums have reportedly burned down two houses belonging to the House of Representatives Member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in Anambra State, Paschal Agbodike.
The incident happened at 1 a.m. on Tuesday in Agbodike’s hometown, Mbosi, in Ihiala Local Government Area.
According to an eyewitness, the lawmaker’s houses, consisting of fully furnished duplexes and a bungalow in the same compound, were completely razed down by the hoodlum, and their properties were looted.
In the same Mbosi, hoodlums had also previously burned down the houses of the President General and the traditional ruler of the community last year.
Mbosi has become one of the flashpoints of the unknown gunmen’s menace, with people no longer gathering for social activities.
MUK TV understands that burials and wedding ceremonies no longer take place in the community for fear of unknown gunmen’s attacks.
Agbodike, who confirmed the attack to newsmen on Tuesday, said no life was lost, adding that security operatives have been deployed to the area.
The federal lawmaker was in Abuja for legislative duties when the attack happened.
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the incident through its Spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.
