Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye, the esteemed spiritual leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, has peacefully passed away at the age of 103.
The announcement of his demise came from the church’s Secretary-General, Special Apostle Ademola Odetundun, revealing that the revered cleric breathed his last on a Sunday morning at approximately 10:00 a.m. in his Ilorin residence, the capital of Kwara state.
According to Odetundun, Baba Aladura had his breakfast and was getting ready for church service when he chose to take a rest and subsequently “passed on peacefully thereafter.” The church has yet to disclose details about the burial arrangements.
Born on June 26, 1926, in Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State, Baba Aladura had a significant background, being the son of Odetundun Abegunde, the Oba Olomu of Omu Aran, and Tinuade Tinuola.
His educational journey began at N. A. Primary School, Omu Aran, followed by Ilorin Middle School for secondary education.
After completing his schooling, Baba Aladura joined the Nigeria Railways in 1944, serving until 1958.
During his tenure, he held positions at various stations, attaining the role of the second-class station master. Subsequently, from 1958 to December 1960, he worked with the Ministry of Agriculture, Kaduna.
In 2005, Baba Aladura Dr. Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye was unanimously appointed as the Spiritual Father (Baba Aladura) of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide.
