Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Afrobeat sensation Mohbad, has expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing police investigation into his son’s demise, highlighting concerns during an interview with Trust TV on Wednesday.

Joseph voiced his discontent, urging the government to intensify efforts in the investigation to ensure justice prevails.

“I am not satisfied with police investigation. A lot of things have been said outside which are not really right. When I carried Mohbad’s body to the police station, my expectation is that they would follow me to search his house or give me the police (autopsy) report which they have not given me. Those are the areas I am not satisfied with,” he stated.

Expressing the need for a comprehensive inquiry, Joseph implored the police to question individuals who resided with Mohbad, noting the importance of examining their phones for clues about the circumstances leading to Mohbad’s demise.

“We are still looking for justice….Delay can result in denial. I am begging the government to put more effort so that things can go on fine as people expect,” he pleaded.

Recall that Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was hurriedly buried the following day.

The investigation into his death involves individuals associated with his former record label, Marlian Records, including Naira Marley and Sam Larry.

Despite earlier denials of complicity, both Naira Marley and Sam Larry were questioned by the police.

Also, a nurse who administered injections to Mohbad emerged as a prime suspect.

Amidst public outcry, the Inspector-General of Police ordered a forensic investigation, leading the Lagos State Police Command to establish a team, including a pathologist, to delve into Mohbad’s death.

However, the autopsy’s crucial findings, especially from toxicology tests conducted in the United States, are still pending.
