Chidi Amadi, a staunch ally of ex-governor Nyesom Wike, has stepped down as the Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Joseph Johnson, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, officially confirmed Amadi’s resignation on Wednesday, revealing the departure of a key figure closely associated with Wike’s political network.

Amadi’s loyalty to the former governor, Nyesom Wike, is widely acknowledged, intensifying the intrigue surrounding his sudden exit from Fubara’s administration.

Johnson stated that Governor Fubara would soon unveil a replacement for Amadi, emphasizing the governor’s prerogative in making such appointments.

“The former Chief of Staff, Hon. Chidi Amadi, has resigned. The governor will announce another Chief of Staff at the appropriate time.

“It is the prerogative of the governor to appoint when he wants it. He will tell us, and we will announce it, and you will also get the release to that effect,” Johnson affirmed.

Amadi’s resignation adds to the growing list of Wike’s close associates, totaling ten, who have recently parted ways with Fubara’s administration, sparking speculation about shifting political dynamics in Rivers State.
