The Supreme Court has unequivocally affirmed the election of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, dismissing appeals by both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, and the Labour Party with its candidate, Ken Pella.

In the case of Omo-Agege’s appeal, the five-member panel, led by Justice John Okoro, declared it lacked merit, emphasizing that the appellant failed to meet the burden of proof.

Similarly, Pella’s appeal met the same fate, being dismissed for lacking merit.

Prior to this, the Court of Appeal in Lagos had already affirmed Oborevwori’s victory, rejecting appeals by the governorship candidates and their respective parties.

Oborevwori secured a substantial 360,234 votes, triumphing over Omo-Agege of the APC, who garnered 240,229 votes. Pella of the Labour Party secured the third position with 48,027 votes, while Great Ogboru of the All Progressives Grand Alliance claimed the fourth spot with 11,021 votes.
