In a distressing incident on Thursday night, kidnappers infiltrated the Nigeria Post Army estate in Abuja, seizing two individuals.

The abduction happened around 10:00 p.m. in the Phase 2 region of the estate, with the assailants targeting the wife and an in-law of Barrister Cyril Adikwu, as reported by Vanguard.

Austine John, a neighbor to the victim, recounted the alarming event: “The kidnappers came in, started shooting, invaded the barrister’s house, and took away his wife and in-law while the barrister managed to escape.”

John added, “It all started at about 10:00. We suddenly started hearing gunshots, and immediately we knew something was wrong. I quickly went out to make sure my gate was well locked. Then we heard the gunshots in the barrister’s house, and we alerted the estate’s management, who promptly took action. Shortly after, army personnel arrived and engaged in gunfire, but regrettably, the kidnappers had already taken the wife and one of the in-laws.”

Expressing the trauma experienced, John stated, “This is really traumatizing because we could not sleep throughout the night due to fear of the kidnappers returning. President Tinubu should please help Nigerians put an end to this barbaric act by the kidnappers.”
