The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has taken a playful jab at the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, saying that if Kwankwaso joins APC, he automatically assumes the leadership role.
In an audio clip circulating on social media, Ganduje addressed party stakeholders in Dawakin-Tofa, Kano, encouraging party loyalists not to fear newcomers.
He stated, “Whoever you are, once you come to APC, then your grandfather is here!”
In response, the Kano State Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Abbas, assured Ganduje of unwavering loyalty, stating, “If you decide to leave APC, they will follow suit. They are with you 100%.”
Ganduje’s invitation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and NNPP supporters sparked controversy amid speculations about President Bola Tinubu reconciling Ganduje and Kwankwaso.
The move drew criticism from APC members in Kano, accusing Tinubu of betrayal.
