Former lawmaker and renowned social critic, Senator Shehu Sani, has issued a stark warning in response to reports of the alleged looting of a warehouse belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria (NEMA) by residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Expressing grave concern, Sani characterized the incident as a perilous indication of an imminent revolution brewing within the nation.

In a tweet shared on his official handle, Sani underscored the gravity of the situation, remarking, “Masses looting foodstuffs from a Government Warehouse in our oil-rich Nigeria is a dangerous symptom of an impending revolution that must be averted or contained.”

The alarming development comes amidst mounting economic hardships plaguing the country, as highlighted by recent reports of stalled per-capita growth, soaring poverty rates, and heightened food insecurity, exacerbating the already dire cost-of-living crisis.

Against the backdrop of rising inflation, currency instability, sluggish economic growth, and widespread business closures, Nigeria finds itself teetering on the brink of a potential upheaval, as echoed by Shehu Sani’s  warning.
