Troops from the Nigerian Army’s I Division, in a remarkable display of valor, have executed a daring rescue mission in Kajuru, Kaduna State, liberating 16 abducted victims and thwarting a kidnapping attempt by an extremist faction.

Announcing the feat in a late Monday statement, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, commended the troops for their swift response to intelligence alerts, which led to the interception of insurgents in Tantatu Community.

“Responding to intelligence on Sunday night, our troops engaged the insurgents in a relentless pursuit, resulting in a fierce confrontation and the eventual liberation of 16 kidnapped victims,” stated Major General Nwachukwu.

While the rescue operation continues to sweep through the area, the Director of Army Public Relations affirmed the troops’ ongoing efforts to locate and secure any remaining captives, pledging relentless pursuit of the insurgents to safeguard the region.

Following the successful rescue, Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, expressed admiration for the troops’ courage and unwavering dedication to duty.

He urged them to maintain vigilance as they continue to spearhead counter-insurgency operations across the nation, aiming to restore peace to all troubled regions.
