Nasir Idris is facing the consequences of his actions as a Dei-Dei Grade I Area Court in Abuja sentenced him to 15 months behind bars for the theft of a fan and praying mat from a mosque.

Despite the verdict, he has the option to pay a N50,000 fine.

According to the prosecutor, Mr. Chinedu Ogada, Idris was arrested by Ali Zuma on March 17 and subsequently handed over to the police in Zuba, FCT.

The theft occurred at the Dei-Dei mosque, where Idris trespassed and was caught red-handed.

During the investigation, Idris confessed to the crime, revealing his past involvement in theft that led to two previous prison terms.

His actions violated the Penal Code of the FCT.

Upon pleading guilty, Idris appealed for leniency from the court.

In his judgment, Judge Saminu Suleiman emphasized the importance of reform and warned Idris to refrain from criminal activities and uphold good conduct in the future.
