Minister of Works David Umahi announced on Wednesday that the Southeast region will not participate in any protests against President Bola Tinubu amidst the planned nationwide demonstrations over economic hardship.
Speaking in Abakaliki during a stakeholders’ meeting about the Ebonyi State segment of the Cross River-South East-North Central-Apo Abuja 6-lane superhighway, Umahi emphasised that the Tinubu administration is making tough decisions to restore Nigeria’s lost glory.
He warned those inciting division to stop, stating it is a waste of time and urged Southeast residents to avoid sit-at-home protests due to their economic damage.
Umahi also encouraged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s legacy projects, highlighting the economic benefits of the coastal highway spanning Ebonyi, Enugu, Benue, and Abuja.
The event featured the unveiling of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the third legacy project.
