Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
Ajaero was taken into custody on Monday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, as he prepared to depart for the United Kingdom on an official trip.
The NLC president was scheduled to attend the Trade Union Congress conference in London, which begins today.
As of the time of reporting, the reasons for his arrest remain unclear, with further details expected soon.
