Former U.S. President Donald Trump has asserted that Iran’s missile attacks on Israel would not have happened if he were still in office, declaring that the world would not be teetering on the edge of World War III under his leadership.
Trump made these remarks on his Truth Social platform after Iran reportedly launched around 180 missiles targeting Israel.
“Look at the missiles flying right now in the Middle East, look at what’s happening with Russia/Ukraine, look at Inflation destroying the World,” Trump stated. “None of this happened while I was president!”
The former president went on to claim that during his tenure, Iran was firmly “in check.”
He added, “There was no war in the Middle East, no war in Europe, harmony in Asia, no inflation, and no Afghanistan catastrophe.”
According to Iran’s state television, 80% of the missiles successfully hit their targets.
In response, Iran’s mission to the United Nations issued a stern warning through a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Iran’s legal, rational, and legitimate response to the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime—which involved targeting Iranian nationals and interests and infringing upon the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran—has been duly carried out.
“Should the Zionist regime dare to respond or commit further acts of malevolence, a subsequent and crushing response will ensue. Regional states and the Zionists’ supporters are advised to part ways with the regime.”
