The Federal Ministry of Power plans to allocate N8 billion in 2025 to educate Nigerians on the importance of timely electricity bill payments.

Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, revealed this on Monday while defending the ministry’s budget before the National Assembly Joint Committee on Power.

According to the minister, the advocacy campaign will leverage social media, digital platforms, and print media to ensure the message reaches all Nigerians.

He stressed the need for this orientation, saying, “The power sector is a national asset that needs protection.”

Mr. Adelabu also pointed out that the campaign would address issues such as power theft, highlighting its detrimental impact on the sector’s sustainability.
