Popular Nigerian music promoter, Ijoba Danku, has raised alarm after alleging he was brutally attacked in Lagos over his vocal support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The street-hop promoter, known for pushing emerging artistes, said the shocking incident happened on Friday in the Illeshu area, close to the New Afrika Shrine.
Speaking from his hospital bed in a video circulating online, Danku dismissed suggestions that the attack was a random street fight or robbery, insisting it was politically driven.
“I was attacked yesterday on the streets of Illeshu by some boys just because I am supporting APC, Asiwaju 2027,” he said, referring to Tinubu’s anticipated bid for a second term.
“They wounded me and damaged my car.”
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to release an official statement, leaving the exact circumstances surrounding the incident unclear.
