Abia 2027 frontline governorship aspirant, Mascot Uzor Kalu, has supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s call for peace, fairness, and internal democracy within the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Reacting to the President’s recent warning against “do or die” politics as the APC prepares for its nationwide primaries, Chief Kalu described the directive as timely, statesmanlike, and necessary for the unity and stability of the ruling party.

President Tinubu, in a statement personally signed by him on Thursday, had urged aspirants, delegates, and party leaders across the country to conduct themselves peacefully while upholding fairness, sportsmanship, and democratic principles throughout the primary election process.

Throwing his support behind the President’s position, Kalu said the message clearly demonstrates that the APC must remain a party built on discipline, unity, and respect for democratic values rather than desperation, bitterness, and division.

According to the Abia governorship hopeful, internal party contests should not be treated as political warfare, but as an opportunity for aspirants to freely present their ideas, vision, and capacity to delegates and party members.

He further stressed that Nigeria’s democracy can only thrive when politicians place the collective interest of the party and the nation above personal ambition and individual interests.

Kalu also urged APC stakeholders nationwide to heed the President’s advice by avoiding inflammatory actions and divisive conduct capable of creating tension before, during, and after the primaries.

The former Abia Chief of Staff expressed confidence that under President Tinubu’s leadership, the APC would continue to strengthen its internal democratic structures while positioning itself for greater electoral victories in 2027.

He also called on party faithful in Abia State and across the country to remain united, focused, and committed to building a stronger APC capable of delivering effective governance and sustainable development to Nigerians.
