Rangers are in advanced talks to sign highly-rated Nigerian youngster, Akpe Victory from Hungarian outfit, Zalaegerszegi.
The Light Blues are, however, facing strong competition from Portuguese giants, Benfica, who have also made an approach for Victory.
A number of clubs in Germany, Spain, and France are also monitoring the centre-back, according to transfer expert, Ben Jacobs.
Rangers are willing to pay €5m for the young defender.
The 19-year-old has shone for Zalaegerszegi in the Hungarian top-flight this season.
He has scored once in 15 league appearances for Zalaegerszegi this season.
