President Donald Trump has announced that United States forces, in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Nigeria, successfully carried out a high-level military operation that eliminated Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, identified as the second-in-command of the Islamic State (ISIS).

In a statement, Trump said the operation was executed “flawlessly” and described it as a “meticulously planned and very complex mission” targeting one of the world’s most active terrorist figures. He noted that the joint effort reflects growing military cooperation between the United States and Nigeria in combating global terrorism.

According to the statement, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki was a key operational leader within ISIS, allegedly responsible for coordinating attacks and expanding the group’s influence across multiple regions. His removal, Trump said, marks a significant blow to the terrorist network’s leadership structure.

While specific details about the location and timing of the operation were not disclosed, Trump praised the professionalism and bravery of both American and Nigerian forces involved. He emphasized that the mission underscores a shared commitment to dismantling terrorist organizations and enhancing global security.
Nigerian military authorities have yet to release an official statement confirming operational details, but security analysts say the development could signal intensified joint counterterrorism efforts in West Africa and beyond.

The operation comes amid ongoing global efforts to weaken extremist groups, particularly ISIS factions operating in Africa and the Middle East, where they continue to pose significant security threats.
