The faction of Peoples Democratic Party led by Kabiru Turaki has reportedly waived screening requirements for former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the PDP presidential primary.
The development was disclosed on Tuesday in Abuja by former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, who is also a member of the PDP screening committee.
According to Aliyu, the party decided to exempt Jonathan from the screening process ahead of the crucial presidential contest, a move already generating intense political conversations within opposition circles.
The announcement is expected to further add to the speculation over Jonathan’s possible return to the presidential race ahead of the 2027 general election.
