Federal Polytechnic Oko has recorded a major academic breakthrough following the approval of its affiliation with to run Bachelor’s Degree programmes.
The affiliation was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) after receiving approval from the university’s Senate. The proposal, submitted in February 2026 by Rector Dr. Irene Chioma Awuzie and her management team, successfully passed the required review process.
Under the agreement, Federal Polytechnic Oko will offer degree programmes in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology.

Speaking on the development, Rector Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie described the affiliation as a significant step toward expanding access to quality higher education, strengthening academic excellence, and creating more opportunities for students.
The partnership is expected to take effect upon the completion of all necessary regulatory and administrative requirements.
