The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recorded major successes in its ongoing nationwide campaign against drug trafficking, intercepting large quantities of illicit substances and arresting several suspects across multiple states.

In Taraba State, operatives intercepted a truck conveying building materials from Onitsha to Jalingo and discovered a large cache of drugs concealed beneath the cargo. A 22-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the seizure.

Recovered items included hundreds of thousands of tramadol capsules, codeine syrup, rohypnol tablets, and pentazocine injections, dealing a significant blow to opioid trafficking networks.

In Ebonyi State, NDLEA officers arrested a 75-year-old man alleged to have been involved in the retail distribution of cannabis to youths within his community.

The anti-drug agency also carried out operations in Imo, Edo, Kano, and Gombe states, leading to the arrest of several suspected traffickers, including female drug dealers, and the recovery of cannabis, methamphetamine, tramadol, and other prohibited substances.

The agency said the operations form part of its intensified efforts to dismantle drug networks, curb substance abuse, and improve public safety across the country.

NDLEA has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at reducing the circulation of illicit drugs and bringing offenders to justice.
