The Abia State Police Command has launched an investigation following the theft of a vehicle belonging to Chief Magistrate Mrs. Ngozi Pearl Lekwa from outside the court premises in Umuahia.
Mrs. Lekwa, of Court 2, Umuahia, said she parked her black Toyota Corolla outside the court along Finbarrs Road at about 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday before proceeding with official duties. She later discovered that the vehicle had disappeared from where it was parked.
A witness reportedly saw the car being driven at high speed towards the Bende Road axis by an unidentified man, believing at the time that he had been sent by the owner.
The Chief Magistrate stated that she did not authorize anyone to use the vehicle and still had the car key in her possession when the theft was discovered.
The stolen vehicle is a Black Toyota Corolla (2008 Model) with the following details:

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, said investigations are ongoing to recover the vehicle and apprehend those responsible.
The police have appealed to members of the public to provide any information that could assist in locating the vehicle and arresting the suspects.
