The Imo State Government has provided financial support to indigenes evacuated from South Africa, granting each returnee ₦1 million to aid their reintegration into society.

The gesture is part of the state’s efforts to assist affected citizens as they rebuild their lives following their return to Nigeria.

In addition to the state government’s intervention, the returnees reportedly received ₦100,000 cash, ₦50,000 airtime and starter packs from MTN to help them reconnect and settle after arrival.

The support package has been described as a significant step towards easing the challenges faced by the evacuees and helping them establish a fresh start.
