A tragic incident has sparked widespread outrage after a 23-year-old nurse, identified as Chinasa, an indigene of Aguamede, Eha-Amufu in Enugu State, was allegedly murdered and buried in a shallow grave in Nkpor, Anambra State.
According to reports, Chinasa had visited her boyfriend, identified as Ifechukwu, a bricklayer residing in Nkpor, before she was declared missing. Concerned relatives and friends reportedly began searching for her after repeated efforts to reach her proved unsuccessful.
The case took a shocking turn when residents reportedly discovered a suspicious freshly dug spot behind a compound in the area. An alarm was raised, leading to the alleged exhumation of the young nurse’s remains from a shallow grave.
Sources within the community alleged that the incident may have been linked to a marriage proposal reportedly made by the suspect, which the victim allegedly declined. However, security agencies have yet to officially confirm the motive behind the killing.
The development has triggered widespread condemnation across social media, with many Nigerians demanding justice for the deceased and expressing concern over the increasing cases of violence in relationships.
Residents described the incident as disturbing and have called on law enforcement authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution of anyone found culpable.
