The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has selected Hon. Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
The announcement was made on Monday by Habeeb Saleh Mohammed, spokesperson of the Kwankwassiya Movement, in an official statement confirming the development.
According to him, “Hon. Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has been unveiled as the running mate to HE Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo for the 2027 governorship election,” he said.
Mustapha Kwankwaso, a businessman and politician, is the son of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The choice of Kwankwaso’s son is expected to add a new dimension to the NDC’s preparations for the 2027 governorship contest in Kano State, given the influence of the Kwankwasiyya political movement in the state.
